POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Officials with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office mentioned the division has recorded the perfect heroin bust in its history.
- Seized medication had road price of virtually $10 million
- Undercover detectives had worked on case since April
- 7 other folks arrested
Sheriff Grady Judd mentioned Monday that seven other folks were arrested, with five kilos of heroin seized.
About 137 kilos of methamphetamine changed into also seized, per a news free up from the Sheriff’s Office.
Judd mentioned the investigation fervent a pair of states and that undercover detectives had been working the case since April.
The suspects tried to promote meth and heroin to detectives — even on Thanksgiving.
“They thought they were slick. They thought the law enforcement officers don’t work on Thanksgiving,” Judd mentioned.
The medication had a road price of about $9.5 million, per Judd.
“Our detectives did an mighty job of disposing of these medication and sellers from inflicting future wretchedness, violence, and death,” the sheriff mentioned.
