The much-anticipated Genshin Impact Version 4.5 update, titled Blades Weaving Betwixt Brocade, has been officially revealed, bringing with it a fresh 5-Star character, several reruns of popular heroes, and an entirely new Banner system called Chronicled Wish. Players can also look forward to limited-time events, character quests, and system enhancements.
As with previous versions, update 4.5 is divided into two Banner phases, each spotlighting different characters and weapons. Here’s a detailed overview of what to expect from the patch, including its release schedule, character Banners, and event content.
Version 4.5 Banners: New and Returning Faces
The star of the update is Chiori, a brand-new 5-Star Geo character who wields a sword. She headlines the Of Silken Clouds Woven Banner, debuting in Phase 1 of version 4.5.
Running alongside Chiori’s debut is the rerun of Arataki Itto, another 5-Star Geo character known for his claymore skills. His Banner is titled Oni’s Royale.
Both of these Banners will be live from Wednesday, March 13 to Tuesday, April 2.
Phase 2, launching Tuesday, April 2 through Tuesday, April 23, brings back two fan-favorite characters:
-
Kazuha (5-Star Anemo sword user) returns with his Leaves in the Wind Banner.
-
Neuvillette (5-Star Hydro catalyst user) makes a comeback with the Decree of the Deeps Banner.
Each character remains a strong choice depending on team compositions and playstyle preferences.
Additionally, a new 5-Star weapon, Uraku Misugiri, which serves as Chiori’s signature sword, will be available during Phase 1’s weapon Banner.
Chronicled Wish: A New Banner Type
The update introduces a brand-new type of Banner system known as Chronicled Wish. While specific details were provided in separate announcements, this Banner type is expected to offer players a new way to summon characters and weapons that may have been more difficult to access in the past.
Event Schedule and Content Overview
Version 4.5 brings with it a mix of story-driven content and gameplay challenges. Here’s a breakdown of what players can expect:
1. Chiori’s Story Quest
This is Chiori’s first dedicated quest, allowing players to learn more about the new character through story exploration.
2. Lynette Hangout Event
Players can deepen their connection with Lynette in a new Hangout Quest, complete with rewards like Fateometer progress.
3. Alchemical Ascension (March 14 – April 1)
Set in Mondstadt, this event sees Lisa opening a potion shop, which players will manage. It’s reminiscent of past simulation-style minigames. Completing tasks and fulfilling customer requests—including those from well-known characters—yields various rewards, including a new 4-Star polearm called The Dialogues of the Desert Sages.
4. The Great Fayz Reaction Debate (March 22 – April 3)
A combat-focused event where players team up with Fayz to tackle battles featuring time manipulation mechanics. After activating a skill, staying still freezes the battlefield, allowing for strategic positioning and even capturing moments via snapshots. The combat revolves around generating Phase Force to complete increasingly difficult challenges.
5. Genius Invokation TCG Updates
The in-game card game receives fresh content in the form of new cards, events, and battle challenges to keep duelists engaged.
6. Leyline Overflow (April 15 – April 22)
A returning event that boosts Ley Line Blossom rewards, making it a great opportunity for players to farm materials and EXP books.
System Improvements
The update introduces a Training Guide feature and several quality-of-life changes, including the ability to view talent upgrade materials directly from character menus. These enhancements aim to streamline the gameplay experience for both new and returning players.
